School auctions (both college and local) are great places to find
monitors.  One monitor that I've had good luck with is the Apple 16",
which only shows one resolution (832x624) but is quite nice.
Trinitron picture tube, 75MHz.  I don't think it would be worth
shipping one, they usually go for a dollar or two at the auctions I go
to-- if anyone bids at all.
