I used to miss PPPmenu too. What I use now is the Remote Access control strip module. It isn't a telephone, but it is a telephone pole. It is actually better than the PPPmenu connection method because it gives you the choice of connecting with any of the Remote Access configurations that you have created, and you can set it to show time connected. If the timer is not at zero you know you are still connected. To replace PPPmenu's application launching ability, you have many choices. I just use the "Favorites" folder in the Apple Menu, and it's actually a lot easier to add things the favorites folder than it was to add to PPPmenu - just control-click on the item, and the contextual menu provides the option of adding to favorites. Plus, when you add a folder (or drive) to the Favorites folder, it becomes heirarchical. A good way to get into drives when their icons are covered by windows. Have you noticed how cheap the G3 upgrades are for your 8500? Or even a 604e/233 processor for about $15. tafkar -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
