Hi My precious Mac has forced me to get back into the list. Not that it's something bad, I used to love it :( when I didn't have work to do and I had the time to read all messages and reply to most :'-( waaaaaaaa!!!! DON'T rub it in
Anyway here goes: I upgraded my 8500/150 to OS 9.1 while I am very pleased with the results there are a few things that got me into thinking (and into frustrating!) WHERE IN THE WORLD IS THE NOTEPAD!?!?!? ok, ok I'll relax.... I had to get the one from my OS8.1 I see that the annoying "stickies" are still there, but why isn't my notepad :'-( waaaaaaa!!! all right! I'll get a hold on myself........... Number two is the Apple Remote Access, I used to have FreePPP but didn't use the PPP control panel that came with it, I used the OT/PPP from the OS because as I can recall, I didn't like FreePPP's or I had a problem with it or something like that. However got so used to the PPP Menu which would of course monitor the connection and have the "Open OT/PPP Control Panel" menu, besides I could keep lots of shortcuts to applications and open then from the menu and the feature that I miss the most is the TELEPHONE icon <sob> which would flash while the connection was active. Another thing that kept me aware that I was online was After Dark 4, BUT it does NOT work anymore!! (feeling pretty depressed right about now...) any really good screen savers out there? I LOVED "Bad dog", have used it for 4 years and gotten so used to its barking and messing up the desktop and the trash :( (I've been carrying my Bad Dog since AD 3.0 came out and I bought it) The performance itself has not suffered that much it is pretty fast, it is one of the very few of Apple OS' upgrades that really gives what it promises (Speed & Stability). EXCEPT of course the movie playback which sucks, but I saw that coming since 8.5 (they used to play great on my 8500/150 running OS 8.1, I have a separate partition with it :)) Any suggestions/upgrades about Apple Remote Access? Did I miss anything while installing? Did Apple replaced the NotePad for something more valuable? Will I get used to it? :-o Any chance I could get Berkeley Systems to make a newer version of After Dark just because I made a tantrum about it? oh I am not really crying just messing with you however I am concerned about this, thanks for you help in advance!!!!!
