You'd have quite a monster on your hands to need 510W. >> All my 8600s and 9600s have 390 watt PSUs. And, mine are everything from the lowly 200 MHz (non-Mach5) up to the screamin' 350 MHz (Mach5). Perhaps the reason for the large (relatively speaking) PSU is the fact that an 8600/9600 case can accommodate up to six PCI slots (up to three PCI slots for the 8600) and up to seven drives for both. Yet, the Apple Network Server (ANS) Model 500 can also accommodate that number of drives, while its PSU is rated at only 305 Watts.
