I have a similar problem with Word 5.1a (I don't use later versions, 
they have less to offer me in user-friendliness).

No matter what settings I use, certain files print with a large 
(50mm) space at the top of the page, whereas the settings (including 
Normal) are set to 17mm. Can't get these files to cooperate. I've 
tried copying & pasting to new files but no go.
