I did two more upgrades on my 7600 last night (running Mac OS 9.1 right now):
ATI Radeon 7000 video controller
Sonnet G4/800 (800 MHz processor replacing Sonnet G3/500)
System is perceptibly faster. I did a minor case mod on the PCI slot into
which
I installed the Radeon, using a rat-tail file to put a dimple into the plastic
case
so the lower nut on the VGA connector would fit better. The Radeon is
connected
to an Apple 1705 monitor via the VGA-to-Apple adapter that the card came with.
Everything worked right away and is (hopefully as I'm at work, not home)
still chugging away.
