You might want to try turning off DHCP and set it to manual. Set IP
addresses to 192.168.0.1, 2, 3 etc. and subnet on all to 255.255.255.0 and
see if that works. They might be trying to share the same IP through DHCP.

Subject: 'nother question

> Thankyou to the people who responded to my question about the 9600
freezing on startup. I'm in the process of going through the suggestions.

house ethernet and into a 10/100 switching hub and from there to an adsl
modem for internet sharing. The other 3 computers are ok with this
arrangement, but this one cannot always make the internet sharing
connection. I have tcp/ip set to dchp and the ip addres of the modem is set
correctly. I am using netscape 4.7. I have tried re-setting the tcp/ip
settings and then setting them back again. The ethernet cable is plugged in
firmly, and I can "see" the computer on the hub.

it doesnt. Any thoughts on this bizarre behaviour would be appreciated.
