According to the paper that came with the switchbox, crossover cables are needed from the switchbox to the computers. A straight-thru cable is used between the switchbox and device. Is the standard, everyday mini-8 cable used to connect from the computer directly to a device a crossover or straight-thru? The specific modem I want to connect to the 7500 and 9600 is a USR which uses a mini-8 to hayes(?) cable. Is that one a crossover or straight-thru?
