I have done that and have a "LG" (cheapest in the shop) CDRW
connected to the ATA 66 - and it works with PM 7300, 7500 very well,
to be able to boot the boot cd must contain TOAST CD READER extension
in the extensionfolder - with APPLE CD/DVD it wont boot anything -
nor show up on the desktop, System 8.6 or 9.1 needed, it also can not
burn bootable cds for systems prior to 8x I don't know why - to be
able to play audiocds you must first install the APPLE CD/DVD
extension restart so that it will manufacture the preference folder
item cd-controll, and then activate the toast cd reader extension or
there will be no sound from the internal analog audiocable.
