I have done that and have a "LG" (cheapest in the shop) CDRW connected to the ATA 66 - and it works with PM 7300, 7500 very well, to be able to boot the boot cd must contain TOAST CD READER extension in the extensionfolder - with APPLE CD/DVD it wont boot anything - nor show up on the desktop, System 8.6 or 9.1 needed, it also can not burn bootable cds for systems prior to 8x I don't know why - to be able to play audiocds you must first install the APPLE CD/DVD extension restart so that it will manufacture the preference folder item cd-controll, and then activate the toast cd reader extension or there will be no sound from the internal analog audiocable. kenta -- -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
