The Ix OEM card that came with the 9600 won't be seen by any version of 
IxMicro's own drivers, AFAIK. If you're not using it already, you will get 
a speed boost from using the Apple-supplied driver, a.k.a. the "9600 
Graphics Accleration" extension. I believe the 1s from OS 8.5+ are 4.0.6, 
the latest version. But unfortunately, you don't have the control settings 
that the Ix cp would have, of course. Though since the card doesn't have 3d
acceleration, there isn't a whole lot you need to control.
