Sure, but it won't latch. There are two types of 3.5" drive sleds. The bottom left sled (and position) has a forward-facing, 1-1/8" wide latch, while the upper left sled (and position) has a backward-facing, 1-5/8" wide latch. For Zips drives, the forward-facing, 1-1/8" wide latch sled is used, but the drive itself is raised up about 0.6", so as to represent a 1.6" drive, by a sheet metal adapter. The actual height above the sled is 38mm, which is about 1.5". Factoid 1: the sled used by the standard hard drive in the G3 DT has a 1-1/8" latch (and is left-facing), but is otherwise identical to the forward-facing, 1-1/8" wide latch. Factoid 2: the G3 DT will indeed accommodate a 1.6" hard drive in the standard hard drive position (the "basement"), but there is very little room for proper circulation of cooling air for that drive.
