That's has helped me to, Explorer 5.1 doesnt install any extensions 
any more and is much faster than 5.0 (swedish version), you  can 
safely trash extensions belonging to earlier versions of I E, but be 
alert that some microsoft extensions is used by other software as 
illustrator, outlook ??, pagemaker and maybe quark. Usually the OLE 
extension is installed and used by other software,
if you did not remove any I E extensions and installed newer  there 
might be a chance that you have several elderly versions that 
consumes space and time in your virtual realm.
