That's has helped me to, Explorer 5.1 doesnt install any extensions any more and is much faster than 5.0 (swedish version), you can safely trash extensions belonging to earlier versions of I E, but be alert that some microsoft extensions is used by other software as illustrator, outlook ??, pagemaker and maybe quark.
