If I get a completely blank screen upon startup, does this mean that my
SCSI bus is dead? I have been experiencing a number of problems with my
7500 (with a Sonnet G3 card) lately, the most annoying one being that
the system would freeze if I tried to open any other application other
than Netscape Communicator. I thought that the freeze might be due to a
corrupt system, so I tried reinstalling OS 9.0, but the system froze
again midway through the install. Now, when I press the startup button,
I don't get a startup bong, and the screen remains dark. The drives
(both CD and HD) spin up briefly, and then nothing happens except for
the whirring of the fan on the power supply. I tried switching from the
internal SCSI bus to the external bus, but got exactly the same results.

I suspect a dead SCSI bus. Can anyone confirm this?
