Canid behavior (of which I'm a practical student right now, introducing
a new dog into the household) is rather readily explained by simple
evolutionary traits, not some gobbledegook like the above.

Humans have selectively bred canids for millenia (They are, after all
wolves in dogs clothing. Canis familiaris and Canis lupus are not
really separate species, more like subspecies of each other...they're
entirely interfertile and essentially share 100% of the same genes.
Dogs are, pretty much, wolves in an arrested state of development.
They're essentially puppies all of their lives.)

We've bred them to retain juvenile characteristics, which includes a
fairly stunted hunting instinct: they got the chase part down. This,
coupled with a total lack of fear of human places is what drives feral
dogs to be so destructive; they're literally juvenile delinquents.

(all said and done...there is some evidence that human association into
a tighter tribal (meaning pack-like) existence dates from the
beginnings of our intimate association with canids. It could well be
that they've evolved *us* as much as we've evolved *them*..after all,
they have rather gotten the better end of the deal. Who gets the free
room and board? Of course, *most* of us don't have to endure poodle
haircuts..;-)
