Hello!
Please, forgive me if this is off-topic but I don't know if there is a list
devoted to Mac accessories. As I plan to use this printer with my 7500 and
7600, I think it could be on-topic... let's hope I am right!
Today I have bought locally a used LaserWriter 12/640 PS in 'AS-IS'
condition (well, I paid about $20 for it, so what else could I ask?). It
has some physical troubles, as broken cover latches (fortunately I have
found the broken bits) and missing manual feeder sheet holder (only part of
it). If somebody has a parts unit, I will appreciate hearing from him/her.
Well, I have connected it via Printer Port and have selected and configured
it in the Chooser (so system communicates with the printer). So far, so
good. Then it came the trouble: paper feeds from the cassette but stops
just before entering the main printer case and reports the trouble.
I wonder if that is a common fault with these printers and if somebody
could help me to locate the fault. It seems to me as some plastic parts
have eroded from use and it prevents the paper to curve conveniently so it
'crashes' with the outside part of the paper input slot by just a mm or
so... but this is just an idea, as I can't really see what happens.
Any help will be appreciated!
