I know you probably won't want to hear this, but I have an 8100 that used 
to do that, & also the problem with failing to have a picture after 
starting up from a cold start, as reported by "J. M." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

It turned out to be the 1st symptoms of a power supply in the process of 
buying the farm. Solved the problem by replacing it, but I only realized 
what was happening when it wouldn't start at all, for love or money.
