What they are referring to is a printer that has a 9600 baud serial port. This is very old technology (does anybody actually make a printer with a serial port anymore?) and a serial port is pretty much a serial port. Anyway, all the old PowerMac's have serial ports that should communicate fine. You will need to buy a USB to Serial adapter for newer Macs without serial ports. You will also need an adapter cable from the Mac's serial port (6 pin DIN - I actually don't remember the coding) to the connector on your piece of equipment. You will also need a terminal communication program to talk to the device. ZTerm for the Mac <http://homepage.mac.com/dalverson/zterm/> is still being updated.
