With OS 9.1 you should choose Control Panel from Apple menu, then open the
Appearance module, click on "Desktop" tab, there should be a button with
"Remove picture" OR "Place picture" text on it. If it says "Remove picture"
than just click on it, it will change into "Place picture".
After clicking on "Place picture" a standard file selector window will
appear, allowing you to choose the new desktop picture. It doesn't have to
be in Desktop Pictures folder, it might be anywhere on your hard drive. You
should just locate it with this option.
