No...it is definitely NOT a 5.25 inch drive and it definitely is a normal 3.5
inch IDE hard drive.

Get something cheap. Spend about $60.00 U.S.

May I suggest that you get a brand new Western Digital 5400 RPM WD400 40-gig
hard drive.

I just put one into my own 6500 and am delighted with the speed and quiet of
the drive. Even the fan has gotten quieter since I put in the new drive. 4
partitions.
