You need to fix your network.  Packet collisions should be rare or 
none existant.

I think there was PrinterShare which goes back to about OS 8.1 but 
may not work with an Epson.  There was also EpsonShare which was by a 
fourth party.

Epson sells Ethernet interfaces for their printers.  I don't know if 
yours will take it.  They are  expensive.
