I've made boot discs for years, of systems from 7.5.1 through 9.1, and I've
never had a problem, except when I forget to click on the "bootable" box. I
hadn't done it in quite some time, and the first one, last week wouldn't
boot. Turns out I didn't make the temp partition (which you need to do) and
so I couldn't 'check' the "bootable" option. To be honest, for this
proceedure, the manual stinks. I had to piece the information together. What
speed are you trying to burn this at? Have you tried a slower speed? If
you've done all this, then I can only say either your burner is bad, your
boot CD drive is bad, your media is cheap, or the burner and CD-Rom drives
are off slightly in opposite directions. That is one of the reasons I do
this, to have an emergency disk, with Nortons and a number of other tools on
hand.

<< I copyd straight at my neigbours on his PC all mac OS disks (copymode
he has one player and one burner) and they worked almost better than
the original - then I tried when I got a burner to create a Mac
Volume and make it bootable and I gave up after having made 10 discs
of wich none would boot - no matter what method was used, there are
several in the toast help, they did not boot on system 7.6.1 machine,
and that was the purpose, 8.x booted better but still not okay - the
reason was that I wanted to have Norton as well as a copy of the
system on the same cd.
