(per my >earlier USB post) 8.1 supports some USB. You'll have to find version 1.2 of the USB drivers and use TomeViewer to extract the bits. Put them in the Extensions, and it'll work. This is mainly useful for things like mice and keyboards, maybe printers. Less useful for more complex things like networking devices and storage. I remember when the iMac originally came out, it had 8.1 with it, and at Earthlink we tried like mad to get a USB DSL bridge to work but never did. So, in other words, it can work but might not. You'll have to use TomeViewer because the installer wants 8.5.1. It can work, however, as I'm using a dual-boot 8.1/8.6 on my 6500 for some emulation stuff that works better under 8.1, but I can still use my USB mouse, keyboard, and gamepad.
