Even 52X CD's aren't all that fast compared the the HDD your system uses 
all the time...;-)

Note, I got a PC drive, a Cendyne 48-12-48 CD at Office Max for $39 
after rebates...it is a Lite-On mechanism inside, and is fully supported 
in OSX. Hi-Val is another company that sells these drives.

None of them are listed as Mac Compatible on the box or in the documents 
but they work.

Virtually all current PC cdrw's work with Toast.
