I love my two Beige G3s, highly upgradable, not expensive to upgrade,
run 9 and X very well.

I have upgraded my DT to a 400 from a 233 G3 [can be done for under $75
at this point, if you need the name of a place just ask], drop in SCSI
or IDE/ATA hard drives, a Rage128 video card is really the best upgrade
for Mac OS X, they can be had for $40.

Basically a Beige G3 is a great upgrade in my mind. Out of the box
[with say 128MB of RAM, standard PC-66, 100, or 133] it will do most
everything in OS 9. If you want to go to OS X, about $125 in upgrades
and perhaps some RAM will make it a strong OS X Mac also, very
flexible, good life span.

David

PS

Do look for a rev. 2 or later [Rage Pro graphics chip onboard] as
rev.1s do not support slave drives and if you ever want a second ATA
hard drive it is nice not to have to buy an ATA card to do it.
