I have a friend who has one of the first iMacs the 233. For the past
little while the screen has been flickering and now has gone dead. Tried
to restart but nothing. Would this indicate a dead power supply or could
there be another cause. He needs this for production work and doesn't
want to waste a trip to Halifax (85 miles) if it is not needed and also
would like to have a bit of knowledge before hand when he visits the
repair shop. I would suggest to him for me to get a part from one of the
lists but the time constraint is quite short.
