Fellow PowerMac Enthusiasts,

I recently upgraded two PMs (5400 & 7200) from 8.1 to 8.5. My problem is that
neither computer will identify the LW Select 300 assigned to them. Each
computer is set up for a direct connection to a LW Select 300.

I have reinstalled the original software (via custom install for 7.1, the
latest software OS the install disks include), zapped the PRAM and rebuilt
the desktop, all to no avail. Through the desktop printer I can see the
computer begin to ID the printer, but I then get an error message to make
sure the printer is directly connected to the printer and that the printer is
turned on, etc. Does anyone know what's wrong.

The computers were printing fine on OS 8.1.

Troubled,

Paul
