subject: computer went dead
I was reading the list yesterday when the computer froze. I tried the
option-command-escape, but nothing, so i
did an emergency restart, but got no "chime"
sound and nothing happened. I tried to restart with Norton Utilities
holding the 'c' key down, but again nothing. All i have is a black screen
like the hard drive isn't working although it sounds like it's running, but
then again, that could be the cooling fan making all that noise. It's
a PM-6400 w/OS 9.1. any ideas? I've tried using several CD's as a boot disc,
but maybe I'm doing something wrong. No "chime" sound and black screen. Need
some help. Thanks.
-Tom
