I recently purchased a 9500 that has a mysterious PCI card installed. This card has no ports. It has no labeling on it to indicate what it is for. Of course there are several enigmatic numbers that look like they might be used to identify it, but searches with them on the Apple site and Google turn up no hits:
APPLE COMPUTRER, INC. [COPYRIGHT SYMBOL] 1995 820-0739-A [Embossed on board] ELEXSYS 3A 94V-0 D/C:4395U [Last 5 characters underlined][Printed in white on board] [Printed on stickers] AH5456BAA [with bar code] ASSEMBLED IN USA 630-1647-A BAV4595 Searching "ELEXSYS" on Google brings up a few sites that imply that it might have something to do with networking, but the lack of ports contradicts this. I can detect no change in the performance of this machine when I remove the card. I don't run any graphics-intensive applications so if it is a graphics accelerator I might not notice any effects. Can anyone tell me what this is, or suggest how I might find out? Thanks! Eric Henry -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
