I do not know much about G3 upgrades for 6360's but to the first poster which
I can't remember his name there are so many other options. I thought about
upgrading my 8500 to G3 after I had forgotten the idea of buying a full G3
machine. I thought I had all I needed here and that all I needed was speed.
Somewhat Not true. I would have spent about $150 in a G3 upgrade, then I
needed memory (I only had 80MB) another $30 to $50, the CD ROM drive was too
slow (6X) oh yeah I also wanted it to be a CDRW ($50-$100) and THE MOST
IMPORTANT THING! Was everything going to turn ALL RIGHT when I installed all
the upgrades???? It was my only reliable mac to get online! (yeah I had sold
my 4400 precisely to help with the expense). Instead I thought about it a
little. Not that I want you to do the same thing I did, but it might be the
best choice. Get a cheap G3 beige at eBay, they are at incredible prices. I
don't think any of them come with less than 256MB RAM, the CD ROM should be
faster than 12X, some of them may bring USB/CDRW or even a Jaz drive (oh yeah
and the internal ZIP), I got all of this for less than $350 (actually w/ the
shipping it came up to that) and you free yourself from the hassle of
installing, upgrading OS, endless startups/formatting, going insane if
something goes wrong, etc. As for your 6360, keep it! it can get online, have
it as a backup, is a good mac. Any Mac is a good Mac, as long as it's put into
good use, and you guys in the list please stop saying what you'd rather have,
it's not helping at all with his mac that was given to him, he didn't have a
choice!

Oh BTW there are cheaper choices, I've seen Beige (desktop) G3s go for about
$150 with the basic stuff and usable.
