Did you install the USB card driver (I think it's a driver OR it could be a
patch) from Apple?  Apparently USB cards need a driver from Apple in order
to work.  I had trouble with mine on a 7300/200 until I downloaded and
installed the driver for USB cards.  Now no problems and it's using a
Logitech optical wheel mouse.
