I've never seen anyone bother to graft a G4 onto an LC or Mac IIci, but somehow squeezing two power supplies, a CD-burner, a G3, 20 Gb 2.5" hard disk, 2 PCI cards and a 6500 motherboard into a tiny little box is like some rite-of-passage in the world of real computer upgraders.
Of course you can just cheat and jam a G4 cube's inards and a 10" Powerbook LCD screen if you want! Ben. PS- Come to think of it, upgrading a IIfx or IIci with a G3/4 would be a real larf. It wouldn't be particularly hard either. Just hunt down a cheap beige G3 system and put all the bits in the IIfx/ci box... a few brackets and a bit of dremel-ing would fit everything in. Cut out a bigger slot for a slot-loading CD drive, hack the rear a bit to get access to all the ports... wouldn't be pretty or as cred-worthy as a "Takky" PowerCC upgrade, but it'd be cool to boost you're still using your IIfx and it runs OSX quite well. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
