I have a CPU daughtercard that's been sitting around in my desk drawer for a
while ... the anti-static bag it's in has '120mhz' written on the outside,
but I can't remember if it's a 601 or 604. Is there any way to tell without
putting it in a machine?

If there is a square, dark-colored heatsink, right over the PPC chip only and
attached to the board using spring clips, it is most likely a 601.

If there is a rectangular, silver-colored heatsink, covering almost the
entire board and attached to the board using four machine screws, it is most
likely a 604.
