I have a 7500 with a Newer Tech G3/300 running OS 8.6. When I went
on vacation, I unplugged it for about a week and a half. When I plugged it
in and started it up, my wallpaper was gone and my icons stacked on top of
each other on the left of the desktop.
I straightened everything out, but every time I do a restart, the
monitor won't come back on. I have to shutdown and then start up. When it
comes back up, my wallpaper is gone and my icons are stacked up again.
I rebuilt the desktop, did a pram zap, initialized the HD and
reinstalled the OS. Nothing changed. However, now I have to hold down the
power button for about 10 or 12 "clicks" before the computer starts.
Everything was fine before I went on vacation. The hard start
problem happened a while back and I had to get a new motherboard.
What happened to this thing and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
Kevin
