Saving the need for another profile and allowing access to your old messages. Making another profile is a good option also, after making the new profile and before getting messages with it, check mail servers in preferences, highlight the mail server and press edit. This brings up the Mail server info window. Under the pop tab you can choose to leave messages on the server. In this way you could get email with the new account and see if it duplicates, the messages will still be on the server waiting for your other profile to come along to download and delete them. You can then compare the results. This test profile can be delete easily from the profile manager in NS once you have a better idea of where the problem is.
