Brian, Back in my TI99/4A days, I began an ongoing friendship with a family. Both parents Harvard graduates, M.D. and Law. First born son challenged. He loved his computer and a program called Logo.
I watched him turning his Turtle each time I visited. I told his disbelieving parents he had great skills, especially in memory. I felt he would eventually read, and indeed he does. This took some time, but the computer and Logo was his entry into a life. He is an adult now, lives on his own, can hold a job. He is still challenged, but functioning. Keep the computer going for your young lady, see if there is a translation to the Mac of Logo. A personal friend wrote an interpreter that allowed him to recreate the TI onto his PC, and use all the programs. Teresa -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
