I'd like to put a big IDE drive in my 7200/8500 hybrid. What's the best IDE
controller? OtherWorld lists a bunch:

ACARD AHard PCI Ultra ATA/66 PCI Interface for PCI PowerMacs, OS 8.5 and up,
including OS X supported! 1yr Warranty. (ACDAEC6260M) more info ... $54.99

The ACARD 6260M is about as bulletproof as a controller gets. Also, it is one
of the very few which can be FLASHed to PC mode or Mac mode.

The VST UltraTek/66 (not mentioned by the above-quoted writer) is also pretty
bulletproof. This card can be FLSAHed to support OS-X, but not to support the
PC.

All UATA cards are compatible with UATA/33, /66, /100 and /133 drives. IOW,
the drives and controllers are upward and downward compatible.
