I have an ISDN "modem" of type Zyxel omni.net LCD+M. I'm running System 8.1 on a 9500/150 (upgraded to 250 MHz).
It came with a bunch of modem scripts, some called "Zyxel ISDN ..." and some called "Quicomm-Zyxel MLPPP...". Of the Quicomms, there are all combinations of BOD, STAC and BOD/STAC for the different speeds. As I've understood, STAC is a compression protocol and BOD (Bandwidth On Demand) means both channels are used if downloading big files, for example. The problem is that all the Quicomms connect with both channels, ALWAYS. Not much BOD! The other ones work fine, but then I have to choose a fixed speed - and no STAC speed-up, I guess? Have can I have BOD when needed, and have a line free for telephone calls when I don't (and save on the bill)? And whatt aboput STAC? -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
