Hi all,

My name is R.T. Dowling. I'm new to this list, but have been a member of
various LowEndMac lists in the past (notably SuperMacs, QuadList and
Swap).

I have a PowerMac 7500/180 (stock 7500 with 604e/180 processor card). I
recently acquired a copy of BeOS R5 and would like to install it on this
machine. If there are any Be users on the list, I was hoping you could
share
your experiences with running Be on a Mac. I've used Be on various PCs
and
have found it to be extremely fast and stable, but have yet to use it on
a
Mac. I've also noticed a profound lack of PowerPC Be apps available on
the
web. The majority of them say Intel only. However, if an Intel-only app
has
source code available, is it possible (and relatively easy) to recompile
that code to run on PowerPC? I'd just like to get a few basic apps
running
on it, such as an IM client, a browser (preferably BeZilla), etc.

Thanks for your time and happy new year,
-R.T.
