Ok my situation is this. I transfer files, to and fro between home and work. I used Zip disks to do this. Recently my parrallel port Zip drive for my PC croaked.(not reading disk). Prior to this I had no problem reading the PC formatted disk on my 8600 mac with the built-in Zip 100 drive.
1) Now i recently bought a USB zip drive to run on my PC (which was recently upgraded to XP) and it works fine. I can also plug this same zip drive into my mac and read the PC formatted zip disk just fine. 2) But my problem is that the PC Zip disk can no longer be read on the vintage Zip drive which came with my Mac. I have contacted Iomega and they tiptoed around the subject saying its Apples File exchange program which allows the Mac to read PC formatted files. By the way this internal drive can still read Mac formatted disks! 3) This cant be true because I can use the USB port and read the PC disk through the external drive! 4) What are your opinions on this internal drive? Has anyone heard of this problem before? Id like to not buy another external USB zip drive, if I dont have to. I have argued with Iomega that it is their drivers, but they just ignore these statements.
