Have you reconsidered re-downloading the apple updater files? Also are you working with at least sonnet patch 2.0.1? Theres a more recent version 2.0.2 but when i tried installing it, it botched on me (i think download file is bad)
my 8600 w/ g4 processor worked no problem with os9helper (latest rev) and sonnet patch 2.0.1.
