This is an excellent list, and I'm glad I joined (recently) - I like the hardware-centric approach too. Are there many users out there running *BSD, Darwin or Linux as the few software issues all seem to be on MacOS? I've joined the MAX list but there is zero traffic.
Some quick questions: Will my 7500 take an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card without having to muck around with extra drivers? I've got a cheapo USB1 PCI card somewhere, which I think is OHCI compliant - has anyone out there sucessfully got Linux running on a 7500 with a 3 button mouse hooked up to a USB card? I'm sorry, but I *hate* those 1 button ADB mice at the best of times and under Linux they're even more of a joke... Has anyone ever installed Apple O/S via TFTP and NFS / FTP? Is it possible to hack a 7500's Open Firmware to get around the BootX problem - I've seen some experimental nvramrc patches floating around the internet but I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried them out.
