I have an 8550 that's been my regular machine for a year or so. It's running 9.1 with 184 MB of RAM.
Problem 1: I haven't been able to enable file sharing recently. I can "see" and share the 7600/G3 and the 5500/200, but they can't see me. When I boot up, I get a "File sharing cannot be enabled" error window. I attempted to use the original AppleShare print server ap that came with it on the OEM OS CD. Ok, that was probably stupid. It *tried* to work, but couldn't seem to find my LaserWriter printers on my network. After the file sharing problem, I reinstalled OS 9.1 (not a clean install). Since then, I cannot get any desktop printing icons to appear. I can still choose a printer via the Chooser, but I can't monitor the printer using the desktop printer icons. I've made sure all of the appropriate desktop printer extensions are enabled. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
