Hi There! I've got a 9600 which I've been running OS 9.1 on for a while and have recently installed OS X. I love it and with the new sonnet install patch, its less buggy than before.
The deal is, now I want to take advantage of Quartz Extreme as some of the scrolling (and wind resizing) is a bit slow. The ATI card I have is the PCI 7000 Raedon .. from what I could gather, only the AGP cards can take advantage of Quartz Extreme's compositing/decompositing offloading to the video hardware. Is there anything I can do to rememdy my situation? I found a webpage that mentioned editing an XML file and replacing AGP w/ PCI .. which I've done, but I've noticed no difference. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
