Here's what I got when I tested my card, just now. I have an XLR8 G4/450 MPe
in my 8600. The following reports:
ASP PowerPC G4 450 Mhz
XLR8 Control Panel PowerPC G4 7400 448.0 Mhz
Nortons PowerPC G4 @ 450 Mhz
Tech tool Lite 3.01 PPC7400(G4) 449 MHz
TattleTech 2.81 PowerPC 7400 (G4) 450.29 MHz (50032)
PowerLogix Cache Profiler 1.5 PowerPC 7400 450 MHz
Metronome (Sonnet) PowerPC G4 450 Mhz
Gauge Pro 1.1 PowerPC 7400 (G4) 450.2 Mhz

With one of these, it took a second or so to report, which would indicte to
me it might be calculating. My question would be, what makes you think it's
not right?

With the XLR8 control panel, it changes the temp readout while it's running,
and this time it said the speed was 449 MHz. I just ran Metronome, and it
said "calculating" and then a second later, came up with its result. GaugePro
has a recalculate button. I noticed that Speculative Processing is turned off
on my G4. Can anyone tell me if it should be turned on or not? Will I see any
benefit?

<< From the perceived performance of my 8600/Sonnet G3/500 I question the
readings I'm getting. Does Metronome or other utilities measure the actual
speed or just read off the card what it's rated at?
