I have just put an sonnet ata100 into my 9600:g3/450, and use a new ide
drive as the boot disk. I want to take the old scsi discs out of the
machine and replace them with ide - actually I will put the old drives
in my daughters 7600 I think. Anyway a couple of questions regarding this.
1) How do I turn off sharing so that I can erase the disks. I have tried
<get info> and changing the privileges, but that does not seem to work.
2) when I pull the drives out, do I have to terminate that scsi
connection, and if so how do I do that.

report on the process : the card installed easily and the disk - a 60gb
maxtor - works perfectly. I partitioned it into 3 20gb partitions and
all appear normal. I should have gone this way ages ago.

Thanks

Tim Roberts
