I have toast 5.2 and 9.1 on a 166mhz PM 7300 - I have made a special partition just for that OS and TOAST and Digidesigns protool free version. NO INTERNET, NO DATE & TIME installed as deprived of extras as possible AND i use that partition only to burn from my ata pci disc to my pci discburner. I've set the buffersizes to max and uses about 10 gigs as scratch, it has yet not made any coaster at all - unless I myself programmed it stupidly. Turn off as many extensions as possible is my suggestion, with extension manager ? When it freezes try force quit (opt+apple+quit) and then if youre in luck you will get a hint from the dialogbox, if it says that "do you want microsoft explorer to quit" then you KNOW ( if lucky) that application "microsoft explorer" caused the freeze, if you do the "forcequit" again you will know if there is any other application involved in the freeze, until you reach the finder application. Then avoid theese applications while burning and turn off all updates and automatic serverclock checks etc. Maybe not so scientific ? but that has worked for me loads of times. kenta
