I am trying to instal a second hard drive in my Beige G3 DT (576 mb memeory) and having problems getting it recognized. Did once but not again. There is a spare cable coming from the CD and this is what I am using. First of all is this possible. Secondly, there are 10 pins in the back, do some of these have to be connected together? I have two connectors to use. Does anyone know the pattern to make this drive a slave? Also, which is better, a) to put OSX on it's own drive and everything else on another, or can you put OSX on a drive with all your other stuff (programs etc.) and system 9 on it's own drive?
