I suggest getting a free e-mail account (such as Yahoo) and using that for online activities that may generate spam (Usenet, Web site registration, etc.). You can check the account every week or two to see if any legitimate mail ends up there and to delete the rest. I've been doing this for years. Spam at my main e-mail address averages one a month, whereas my spam-catcher address gets hundreds. -- D.F.
