==================
OK, some news from the 7200/120 front:
I have now find that I can start "in step" so to speak...
- When I first hit the power on key on the keyboard, this Mac will
chime, the HD will scratch a bit then stop with a black screen.
-if connected to a 12" gray monitor from Apple, I will reboot 2-3
times with apple+control+power (after first hitting the power key)
and it will boot successfully. Having done that many times, I wanted
to see if it was stable. So I copied graphic Converter and a folder
full of pictures. I started a diaporama and let it run for 4 hours
without problem. Only other thing on the HD is OS 8.1
-Being proud of me :=) I moved the 7200 between my iMac and a 17"
AppleVision and connected it to the 17" monitor. This time I had to
reboot (apple+control+power) more than 12 to 15 times before getting
a full successfull boot. I started the diaporama once more. It is
running now for more than 2 hours without a glitch...
I remember reading that this sort of trouble is often related to RAM
check failing, but since the 32 Mb RAM chip come from another working
7200, what give? Is it possible it is to thigh in VRAM, since there
is none in the slot... By the way how much VRAM is soldered on the
mobo? I tought that there was none, but since it eventually boot
there must be some?
Thanks to read my FrenchGlish,
JCT
