Hi Dan
Well I dont know if your G3 Mac OS8 installer will install or not but I do
know that there were probs with 8.0 and strongly recommend going straight up
to 8.1. Particularly for The HD driver.
I got mine new in 98 with Mac OS8 and it came with Drive setup 1.3.1 on a
separate CD with warnings to update the drive after any install.
If you go to 8.1 that would update the driver anyway.
8.0 WAS buggy for me. 8.1 was better. 8.6 and 9.1 both better still.
Depends on Ram and of course preference as to whether to stay with 8.1.
I think 8.6 is preferable as it supports carbonlib based apps.
I've pretty much maxed mine and my main gripes are fan noise, limited ram at
128 (wish I could have more and also try out Mac OSX) and a small screen
though I could mirror it to a larger monitor if I wanted I guess.
More than (but not actually what) you asked for but hey!

Regards
Brian
